Title: Healthcare Assistant Planned Services
Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC BAND 2 £22,383 pro rata, plus enhancements
Hours/Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Part Time (This is an Overnight 1:1 Service)
Based: Leicester and surrounding areas.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will deliver care and support to people with terminal illnesses whilst also offering vital emotional support for their families.
With experience of End of Life care, you're ready and able to make a real difference. Ours is a one-to-one approach to care Must have a full UK Driving Licence – , so you're sure to enjoy plenty of meaningful contact with patients and their families - usually in their own homes. Working without close supervision, you'll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient's established care plan.
You'll be required to carry out a range of care duties including helping patients meet their hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records and emotional support to the patient and their families.

Job responsibilities
- Providing vital psycho-social & emotional support to patients and their families
- Monitoring symptoms and assisting with medication
- Keeping detailed patient records
- Assisting patients in the performance of daily activities
- Providing end of life and immediate after death care

What we are looking for:
- S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma is desirable
- Interpersonal/Communication skills
- Emotional strength, patience, and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support.
- Continued access to NHS Pension Scheme (subject to eligibility)
- End-of-life care experience is advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided and opportunity to learn on the job
