Job description

The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out routine personal care/assist with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by), a registered nurse/clinician. The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.

The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within Ward 11 /Department environment.

Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

What we'll need you to bring

  • Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social environment.
  • Required to undertake on the job training and induction
  • Undertake mandatory HCSW standards
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.


Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Ward 11 - within University Hospital Hairmyers

The working pattern for this role 2x 11.5 hour shifts. 1x 7 hour shift
