If you are an experienced Healthcare Assistant with previous experience within a hospital environment, then we have just the role for you.
We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join team in our outpatients department at Southampton Hospital to support the professional staff with the overall responsibility for all patients in the outpatient department.
About the role
You will be a valued member of the outpatients team ensuring that all treatments given meet individual patient needs, within the agreed patient care pathways.
Enabling patients to make informed decisions about their treatment and general welfare and keep comprehensive records in respect of all patients.
This role will have clinical and technical responsibilities along with some administrative duties
About You
An experienced individual with an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, with a keenness for working towards achieving the Level 3. It would be an advantage if you have worked in acute healthcare environment. More important though is your flexibility, your knowledge of infection control, belief in teamwork and your ability to use your initiative, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload.
The ideal applicant will have
- Have already achieved NVQ 2 in health and social care and hold a BLS certificate
- Experience or a good understanding of a HCA duties and responsibilities
- The ability to receive and communicate information accurately and take instruction from professional colleagues.
- Someone with the flexibility to fit into internal rotating shift pattern.
- Working 37.5 per week Monday to Friday
- Being part of a friendly and supportive team
