Job description

To work as a member of the Stroke Unit team, participating in patient care delivery under the supervision and direction of qualified nurses.

Our Division is an exciting, rewarding and challenging place to work. We are a large nursing team delivering a range of acute care across our medical specialty wards. The ward areas include Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Elderly Medicine and Infectious Diseases.

We are currently recruiting band 2 Healthcare Assistants for our Stroke Unit. The Stroke unit consists of two wards, Haldane (Hyper acute Stroke unit) and Herrick (Stroke rehab unit).

In this role you will be expected to work flexibly across the Stroke Unit on a rotational basis, gaining skills in the care of both acute and rehabilitation patients to support them throughout the stroke pathway.

In return you can expect opportunities to develop personally and professionally as well as line management and supervision from a designated Ward Manager.

As a band 2 Healthcare Assistant, you will receive the necessary training and support required to carry out the role. You will have a “can do” approach which will contribute to the smooth running of our wards and departments.
