Band 2 HCA for Breast Clinic KGH
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated breast outpatient service based in the Treatment Centre at Kettering General Hospital. We are a busy team committed to putting patient care first and are looking for a dedicated professional who shares our values and our passion for delivering quality care.
Our vacancy
We are looking for a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant to join our Breast Out-Patient Clinic Team to be involved in:
- Supporting the qualified nurses with the delivery of high quality, individualised, evidenced based care to all patients.
- Participating in clinical duties once trained and competent.
- Demonstrating a sensitive and diplomatic approach to patients in an emotional situation.
- Preparing equipment and rooms in preparation for a variety of clinics.
- Monitoring and replenishing documentation and clinical stock as needed.
- We seek someone to can work flexibly across the week according to the demands of the clinics. 16 hours worked across 2 or 3 days Monday to Friday within the hours of 8am - 6pm.
For our Band 2 Healthcare Assistant position we require you to have:
- Previous experience as an HCA [desirable].
- An interest in working in an Outpatients department.
- You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise caseload.
- Motivation to develop and extend professional knowledge / expertise.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly, without direct supervision.
- An empathetic approach as exposure to sensitive issues will occur.
- The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
- Opportunities to undertake further training and development is encouraged and supported.
