Location: Roodlane Medical Glasgow, 203 St Vincent St, Glasgow G2 5QD

Contract: Permanent & full-time - 37.5 hours (Monday-Friday 8.30-5.30pm)

Salary – £21,218.00 – £23,576.00 depending on experience and skills

About the role:

The Healthcare Assistant supports GPs, Nurses, Physiologist, in delivering patient medicals and GP consultation, by administering health function tests. A Healthcare Assistant is also responsible for the day to day clinical governance tasks.

As Primary care operate across many sites and for many corporate clients it is imperative that you take responsibility for the quality of your individual work and contribute as a member of a team, when delivery exceptional patient care

Duties are not limited to;

  • Perform clinical duties as requested including but not limited to ECG, Lung Function, Phlebotomy, Ear Irrigation, Chain of Custody urine testing, Urine Analysis, dressings removal of sutures.
  • Record clinical data and reports onto the medical database system
  • Undertake essential measurements such as height, weight and body composition including BMI and tissue hydration
  • Gain valid informed consent for assessment and treatment interventions in line with national and local policy.
  • Apply infection control measures within the practice according to local and national guidelines.
  • Make entries in the patients’ medical records as appropriate following local and national polices.
  • Recognise own limitations and request assistance as necessary.
  • Chaperone as required
  • Report Variances in patient’s results to a relevant registered professional.
  • Liaise with clients and when appropriate discuss the results of the test carried out.
  • Log all data and results for each client onto the various systems

Knowledge and Understanding;

  • Experience within a healthcare setting (Ideally)
  • Ability to provide good quality care
  • Care certificate (or working towards)
  • Awareness of the need to focus on continuous quality improvement
