Introduction If you have experience caring for people within a Mental Health or CAMHS environment and are looking for a rewarding career in a brand-new service, then join the new team as a Healthcare Assistant at Emerald Place Clinic in Charlwood – which is due to open in November 2023. You’ll be making a difference to the lives of young people with acute mental health conditions in a newly built service in a unique partnership between Elysium and NHS Surrey and Borders. What you will be doing You will be part of a new inclusive and supportive team that will work together to provide care to young people with acute mental health conditions where you will use your knowledge and skills to help support young people lead a valued and fulfilled life. A warm and nurturing environment is supported, allowing for the understanding of symptoms, patterns, and origins of psychological distress, and will actively encourage the young people to personalise bedroom spaces to make these feel like a home from home. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week because of you. The shift patterns include working nights and weekends,12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week. Where you will be working Emerald Place is a brand-new mental health inpatient unit for young people in Charlwood in Surrey. Surrey and Borders, in partnership with Elysium Healthcare, will build and manage the new 12 bed unit. The partnership brings together complementary expertise and best practice to jointly operate the facility and deliver a high-quality service.
