About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a healthcare assistant to join us on a part-time basis, for 30 hours per week at our Luton Urgent Treatment Centre with the alternating shift patterns below:
- Week 1 - Tuesday 09:00 - 17:00, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 10:00-18:00.
- Week 2 - Tuesday 09:00 - 17:00, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday 10:00-18:00.
With your proven healthcare experience in an acute or community environment, you will assist with the delivery of patient care, providing support to health care professionals within a multi-disciplinary team, while working under the supervision of the clinician and within the group parameters of the practice.
As someone who can work with autonomy, you will apply your skills and knowledge to the following clinical areas:
- Chaperoning duties.
- ECG recording.
- Phlebotomy.
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being.
- Medical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation.
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
About the Candidate
If you are a qualified and experienced healthcare assistant looking for a fresh and exciting challenge, we would love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 healthcare or relevant specialty.
- Infection control awareness.
- 1-2 years (or equivalent) recent relevant healthcare experience in an acute or community environment.
- Experience of managing patients in a clinical or outpatient setting.
- Evidence of statutory mandatory training / willingness to attend training.
- Computer literate.
- Calm, organised and patient focused practitioner
- Understanding of the primary healthcare agenda.
- Understanding chronic disease management processes.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 in healthcare or relevant specialty.
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ideally a sound working knowledge of Adastra.
- Instigated changes with scope of influence in current role.
