An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Avon Fire and Rescue Service as a Health & Wellbeing Advisor. This is a new post within our Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team.

The post holder will be involved in promoting the importance of health and wellbeing to employees and managers across the organisation. You will work alongside other specialist staff to ensure a holistic approach to mental and physical health is embedded across the Service and that appropriate advice and support is in place.

The role will involve delivering training and support to staff and managers. You will visit Fire Stations, our Control Room and support staff across all departments to gain an understanding of the differing issues and needs of staff to help inform and further develop wellbeing support across the Service. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to engage with staff and managers. You must also possess a comprehensive understanding of mental health issues, their potential impact within the workplace and how effective support mechanisms can improve health and wellbeing. Experience of devising and implementing relevant training, policies and procedures is also required.
