About the job
Chemring Countermeasures is a world leading and innovative company, designing and developing countermeasure solutions to armed forces throughout the world. We are part of the Chemring Group of companies and have a solid global infrastructure, which also helps us to thrive.
We have more than 50 years’ experience at the forefront of Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) expendable decoy research, design and manufacture, and as a company with a culture of innovation, operational excellence and safety, we operate at the leading edge of expendable countermeasure technology.
We are currently recruiting a Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Technician (Apprentice) to join us on a permanent basis.
You will be responsible in assisting with queries coming into the IT Helpdesk and supporting with IT infrastructure on site.
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Support Operations in all aspects of HSSE
- Assist with accident investigations, inspections, audits and site visits.
- Monitor (and eventually deliver elements of) Health and Safety training provision.
- Support occupational hygiene requirements.
- Direct queries from internal and external stakeholders to appropriate HSSE team members
- Monitor HSSE action close-out
- Compile and report HSSE data on a weekly and monthly basis
- Research and collate information requested by HSSE team to assist in maintaining up-to-date policies and procedures.
- Develop knowledge of HSSE legislation
- Maintain electronic HSSE data and databases
- Support the risk assessment process
HSSE Apprentice Person Specification
- Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain suitable level security clearance
- Detailed Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop Office Applications – essential
- Demonstrate ability to work within a multi-functional team - essential
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy – essential

This role is typically worked over a 4.5 day week however flexibility is required to support the needs of the business. We offer a hybrid working approach that is locally managed.
