HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER
Reporting into the Operations Director you will lead a positive and proactive approach to Health, Safety and Environment across the organisation.
You’ll be responsible for planning and executing improvement projects to eliminate non-conformances, whilst identifying root causes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of systems and processes to meet the needs of the business.
The post holder will be required to support all levels of management and employees to achieve legislative compliance and to implement effective occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems across the organisation.
You’ll need to be a clear and confident communicator with a collaborative approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to influence others alongside significant Health and Safety experience, ideally gained in a manufacturing environment with NEBOSH / NCRQ Diploma or NVQ5 qualification.
Main purpose
To manage the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) strategy across the site, in order to ensure maximum safety of equipment, processes, personnel, energy and waste reductions whilst meeting operational requirements. To influence site teams to ensure we follow safe working practices and procedures.
To carry out and record HSE audits of areas and site risk assessments on site equipment and procedures and maintain the company HSE databank. To construct company HSE Policies and procedures with action to train and lead implementation in these.
To be instrumental in the development of an HSE culture.
Experience/Qualifications needed.
· A sound technical background with the ability to manage tasks using a lateral, methodical approach, matched by a demonstrable flair for employee involvement.
· NEBOSH, NCRQ Diploma or NVQ5 qualification.
· Coaching and leading a team
· Extensive experience of environmental waste control and reduction.
· Experience preferred within a FMCG / food manufacturing company.
· Demonstrates strong analytical and planning skills.
· Demonstrable decision-making skills
· Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word & PowerPoint
· Ability to manage energy reduction program.
Full time permanent position
Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week (with a degree of flexibility when required, to support the needs of the business)
Salary £50,000 to £55,000 dependant on skills/qualifications & experience.
