Job description

This is a fulltime post with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00.

To co-ordinate an efficient Health Records Service to Patients, General Practitioners, Medical and Nursing Staff, ensuring that the workload is prioritised on a daily basis. The workload of the department encompasses Inpatients, Outpatients and Day Cases. The post holder will be responsible for day to day supervision of Health Records staff, prioritising workloads, granting leave and organising cover, maintaining workflow and ensuring that targets and deadlines are met. The post holder is expected to respond to difficult situations involving patients or their relatives and may play a leading role in seeking resolution, and only escalating the problem to a more senior level where necessary.

o Institute of Health Records and Information Management Supervisory
Accreditation Certificate of Health Records and Information Management
Certificate and/or significant previous Health Records Experience essential.
o Effective communication skills, Computer Literacy, Internet Skills, ability to use
Initiative.
o It is also desirable that the candidate has extensive experience of using the
Patient Management System (PMS).

The post holder will join our team of 10 supervisors who are responsible for the
management and wellbeing of 52 staff members.
