Job description
Lincolnshire has exciting opportunities for Health Visitors. If you are a qualified Health Visitor we would like to hear from you. We have full and part time Health Visitor positions based in Lincoln, Gainsborough, East Lindsey North (Louth, Mablethorpe & Alford), East Lindsey South (Horncastle, Skegness, Tattershall, Coningsby), South West (Grantham and Sleaford) and relief Health Visitors across the County.
The role
We are seeking to recruit motivated practitioners with initiative and drive who are keen to contribute to the further development of our integrated children’s health service. The children's health team work within Lincolnshire County Council very closely with Children's Services (Children’s Centres, Early Help, Social Care and the developing Family Hubs) and other agencies to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities for children, young people and their families in our care. Because we work alongside our Children’s Services colleagues, we are able to provide a comprehensive package of care to ensure that our children are able to achieve their full potential.
About you
We are seeking practitioners who thrive upon innovation and are not averse to change. It is essential that you are a keen public health advocate who can demonstrate delivery of the live healthy child programme.
You will need to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an integrated skill mix team. You need to have excellent communication skills and experience of working in partnership across organisational boundaries.
What our staff say
I have worked in Lincolnshire as a School Nurse from 2009-2017 and as a Health Visitor from 2017 until present day. I can honestly say that I love living and working in this county; there are not many people who can say they see beautiful, calming countryside and the sea going about their working day.
We have regular one to ones and supervision to support our practice along with group safeguarding supervision and regular team meetings during which everyone’s voice can be heard and ideas shared. The training available is of a high standard and there are many opportunities provided to pursue your individual professional goals such as being a breastfeeding/mental health/autism champion or taking part in studies to enhance our practice (I recently took part in a pilot study around surviving crying).
According to its health profile, East Lindsey is an area of high deprivation which means that my caseload is extremely diverse and every day brings new challenges. Working as a Health Visitor means that I can make a real difference to the lives of the children and families I meet. The County Council encourage you to be part of the changing face of early years services and are very open to hearing your views; working groups aimed at developing the early years offer are currently in place both within Childrens Health and Childrens Services. Who would not want to be part of such a pioneering organisation?
Julie Bayliss HV East Lindsey South

In Children’s Health we support new areas of practice such development of the Early Language Identification Measure tool and accompanying interventions. At Lincolnshire County Council we strongly believe in supporting our HV's and provide regular clinical and safeguarding supervision.
For newly qualified practitioners, we have a preceptorship programme in place to aid your development. There will be the opportunity for career progression through the G9 and G10 pay-scales depending on knowledge and experience, plus payment of professional fees.
