This is an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic, compassionate and creative team as Healthcare support worker (HCSW) position in Older People’s Services within Gartnavel General Hospital. We have a number of posts based in our orthopaedic rehabilitation wards and general medical wards for older people.
We are looking to recruit HCSWs to work within the multi-professional team to ensure This is an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic, compassionate and creative a high standard of care for patients, supporting their acute care, rehabilitation, and discharge planning by providing holistic and compassionate care, and contributing to the physical and emotional needs for this defined patient group. You will have an interest in developing skills in dementia, delirium, and palliative care. Dynamic discharge is essential for ensuring the patients are cared for by the right people in the right place at the right time and your skills and knowledge will be valuable in contributing to this model of care.
You will assess patient needs, plan/implement and evaluate care which is evidence based utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others including our community colleagues. You will be provided with mentorship and coaching, as we strongly value and support staff wellbeing and development. The shift pattern for this post is 11.5 hour shifts / rotational day & night duty Monday – Sunday however we are able to consider full and part time hours to support our service.
