Overview:
You will assist the radiologists in diagnostic scans and minimally invasive interventional procedures such as non-organ biopsies, breast biopsies, aspiration of non-infectious collection i.e. needle tap. You’ll also be involved in ordering consumables and ensuring environmental upkeep.
What you'll do:
Welcome and receive patients, visitors and colleagues to the Unit.
Ensure at all times the needs and concerns of patients and their friends/relatives are
given thorough attention and a friendly and efficient service is provided.
Assist patients to orientate to the ward.
Report to a qualified nurse, any changes in a patient’s condition that may require
nursing intervention.
Accompany patients (including their friends and relatives) between Departments.
Assist patients with eating and drinking when required.
Assist in patient hygiene and elimination procedures.
Transport Clinical specimens / Prescription charts, as directed, to the relevant Departments.
Enter requests on the computer as directed.
Provide direct basic technical assistance to medical staff as and when required
What you’ll bring:
Competent in written and oral English - Essential
NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent - Essential
NVQ Level 3 (Direct Patient Care) – Desirable
Experience on a ward or outpatient setting
Venepuncture skills/Phlebotomy skills - Desirable
Competent in written and oral English - Essential
NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent - Essential
NVQ Level 3 (Direct Patient Care) – Desirable
Experience on a ward or outpatient setting
