Southfields Group Practice based in Wandsworth is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to undertake the role of HCA .Excellent interpersonal skills and good IT skills. Experience of EMIS system is desirable.Experience of working in a GP Practice setting and having completed your care certificate are essential. The candidate will need to have a flexible working approach and have the ability to work with a wide range of professionals, people and patients. The role is f/t 37.5 hours over 5 days inclusive of one Saturday per month.
We are a friendly practice with over 11,500 patients. The team consists of 10 GP's,3 Nurses, and a Phlebotomist. We also share a variety of staff through our PCN. The premises are modern, purpose built, well-equipped with an excellent working environment and a supportive admin and clinical team.
Job Description – Healthcare Assistant
Purpose: To assist the GPs and practice nurse team in the service and delivery of the care management of the practice population Responsible to: Senior practice nurses, practice manager and, ultimately, the GP Partners. Salary Dependent on Experience

· Undertake, record and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training:
· Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratories
· Measuring and recording following physiological measurements in routine presentations, and for pre medical checks:
1. Blood Pressure/24 HR BP
2. Pulse Rate And Rhythm
3. Temperature
4. Height And Weight - Body Mass Index
5. Visual Acuity
6. Venepuncture
7. Ecg
8. New patient checks
9. NHS Health Checks
10. INR
11. Ear Syringing
· Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions
· Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being, and how it can be promoted
· Give accurate and appropriate information to patients and groups within own competence
