Heath House aims to provide services as a Residential care home, by offering accommodation for persons who require personal care through the ethos of valuing independence, dignity and comfort. We aim to provide services catered to the specific needs of individuals giving them the support they need while allowing them the freedom they desire.
Heath House will cater to support residents in their own individual care suites within our building to an improved state of independence through our trained staff. We believe in providing person centered support for all residents. Our services are based on supporting the individuals we care for to have increased wellbeing, in everyday life. Our support is based on having every individual lead a fulfilling life filled with meaningful relationships. We work in collaboration with each person we support, their family & friends, social workers and other stakeholders to create a support plan that is tailored to their needs, wishes and goals. Our staff receive high quality training to ensure consistency and continuity in the support and care that we provide. Our services are mainly focused on providing support and care to the individuals in a helpful, friendly and considerate manner.
Heath House was created firstly from personal experiences caring for loved ones who are most vulnerable in our society and secondly from a professional standpoint. Therefore, with these experiences, we aim to inspire future members of Heath house with our passion and whole-hearted commitment to our caring role.
KEY ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Role and Responsibility:
You will take instruction and advice from the senior HCA to assist in the daily management of the home to deliver person centered care to the resident as per their individual needs and care plan.
You will take responsibility to ensure that a quality service is provided to meet the individual needs of the residents.
You will be responsible for the development of relationships with individuals, relatives and other healthcare professionals in order to produce and support person centered care planning.
Responsible for the safe administration of medication
Help organise, plan and deliver meaningful activities for the residents.
Duties:
Assist residents to dress and undress
Assist residents to bathe, including special attention to personal hygiene e.g. hair, nails, eyes etc
Giving and removing bedpans, urinals and assisting residents on and off the toilet and commode
Assisting residents in and out of bed
Assisting residents with meals as appropriate
Greeting visitors and escorting them to the residents
Maintaining an awareness of residents needs and helping them to retain maximum independence
Encourage residents to live as active a life as possible
Ensuring privacy for each and every resident
To follow each resident’s care plan at all times
To treat each resident with dignity and respect
Safely administer medication using a person centered approach and follow the medication policy and procedures at all times
Safely provide compassionate care and support
Give non-discriminatory care and support
To safely use any aids and equipment in a manner that respects dignity
To support a resident through temporary or terminal illness
To assist and liaise with community health support and families
Record and report all relevant resident information following company policies and procedures relating to documentation
Record and report all relevant changes that are observed
Keep all information about residents confidential and share on a need-to-know basis only
Attend training, appraisals, development meetings and team meetings as required
To maintain a smart appearance and always wear company uniform
Be knowledgeable about Mental Capacity Act 2005
The Care Service will involve a programme of personal care and domestic management that is personalised for each resident in the form of a Care Plan. Care duties will therefore include assisting the resident with the following activities and in so doing will at all times observe and respect the residents’ dignity, privacy and independence as far as practical.
To conform to all Policies and Procedures laid down by the organisation in respect of carrying out these Care Duties and in other administrative aspects of the business, as relevant.
To participate as directed by the Managers and regular In-service Training programmes as and when required.
To maintain accurate, concise, and timely records of resident care, diary sheets, timesheets
To participate in Staff, Team and Quality Management Review Meetings as directed by the Managers/Directors.
To complete all training as is required in a timely manner.
To report back to the Managers/Senior HCA on any aspect of resident care which they feels warrants investigation or urgent action.
To participate in reviews of residents’ Care Plans as required.
To be aware of the tasks and activities which must NOT be undertaken as part of care duties.
Help organise, plan and deliver meaningful activities for the residents.
To assist and take part in all emergency responses.
Follow a strict cleaning schedule and keep up to date records.
Follow all COSHH guidelines.
Maintain good working relations with colleagues at all times.
In order to protect both our staff and our residents, unless there are wholly exceptional reasons (which we will consider on an individual basis), From 11 November 2021, anyone working or volunteering in one of our cares home will need to be fully vaccinated against coronavirus (COVID-19) and will need to agree to continue to receive Covid-19 vaccinations as required and in accordance with public health guidance throughout their employment with us.

Full time hours Days or Nights
7am to 7pm Days
7pm to 7am Nights
Expectation as per the rota to work bank holidays including Christmas and New Year.

Skills / Qualifications and Other Requirements:
Ideally Working towards or already holding a NVQ 2 or 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or prepared to undertake NVQ training when in post.
You will possess good communication and customer care skills.
Willing to learn new skills
