Health Care Assistant - Days & Nights Devon
Job description
We are a small but growing care team operating in East and mid-Devon that is looking for highly empathetic and kind carers who have a genuine desire to help others.
You do not need to have immediate experience as full-training will be provided, however, the following attributes and skills are essential:
- Effective communication skills - both verbal and written
- Willingness to learn, and to give and receive feedback
- A desire to achieve a Care Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Ability to drive with access to an operational vehicle (we pay full mileage costs at 45 pence per mile)
Our team support each other to do the best we can. Although we are paid well, we are entirely motivated by supporting the clients. All our carers are committed to making sure each person they support is treated with gentleness and respect . The carer needs to be professional in their role - punctual , polite , clean and tidy.
The job is varied - it may involve shopping, meal preparation, escorting the elderly to medical / social appointments, help with washing and dressing, companionship , talking with paramedics and health care professionals.
We will mentor our carers to help them to develop the skills for progressing confidently in health and social care.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship, Freelance
Part-time hours: 30 per week
Salary: £12.00-£14.00 per hour

Carers have access to unlimited and free PPE equipment - gloves, aprons, eye shields and masks. We also provide antibacterial hand gel. Staff are eligible for Covid booster jabs. They will not be expected to work where they feel at risk in any way .
