The Acute Surgical Unit is a fast paced assessment unit. ASU receives patients from the Emergency Department, GP surgeries, Clinics, Minor Injury Units.
We are looking for a committed, reliable, hard working individual to join our amazing team as a Health Care Support Worker.
ABOUT THE TEAM
We operate a 24 hours 7 days a week service consisting of 8 trolley spaces 4 side room and a waiting area.
ASU is based centre to two wards on F Level West wing.
We see on average 40 patients in a 24 hour period, this can vary day to day.
We run an exceptional service that contributes to the flow of the surgical patients and beds.
ASU staff support each other and encourage development.
Clinical accreditation outcomes have always been achieved.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will assist in the provision of high quality care under the supervision of the registered nurse.
You will communicate with individuals taking into account individual needs and requests.
Undertake, record, report and escalate information relating to care accurately and in a timely manner.
You will learn a variety of clinical skills and general duties appropriate to the area.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone with previous experience in a caring role.
Understanding of the HCA role and hospital environment.
Ability to cope with demands and pressure
