We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate new member of the team to join our Nursing Department.
Whether you're a fully trained HCA and interested in joining our friendly team or you're someone that would like to join the NHS and take advantage of our excellent pension scheme whilst making a real difference to the lives of others, then we'd love to hear from you! Full training will be provided to the person with the personal qualities we are looking for, we'll even help you complete your 14 week Care Certificate qualification whilst you're working with us.
We are ideally looking for someone to work full time (37.5 hours per week), but we would also consider part time hours for the right candidate. The role is based across two sites so driving is essential.
The Blandford Group Practice is passionate about providing good quality care to our patients. We deliver NHS services from three surgeries and employ a wide variety of healthcare professionals such as GPs, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Pharmacists and Paramedics. The Practice prides itself on being a friendly and welcoming team.

Key Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the Practice Nurses and strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols
- Assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care
- ECG recording
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Phlebotomy
- Blood glucose checks using in-house machines
- Chaperoning duties
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations + IUS and IUD fittings
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being eg height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, urinalysis
- Dressing of wounds and leg ulcers
- Working as part of the frailty multi-disciplinary team in the community
