CARE ASSISTANT ‑ DAY DUTY
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Job Types: 37 hours including all shift patterns and some weekends
Salary: £10.51 per hour
RESPONSIBLE TO THE PROPRIETORS
ROLE:‑
- To share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.
- To help in the care of the residents' physical environment and in the general day to day activities of the home.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:‑
- Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing, mealtimes and toilet.
- Help residents with poor mobility and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in the use of aids and personal equipment.
- Provide person centered care and befriend 25 Residents with Dementia
- Help care for residents who are dying.
- Help in the promotion of mental, physical and social activity of residents, through talking to them, sharing with them in pastimes such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
- Make and change beds, tidy rooms and do light cleaning
- Become a champion for an aspect of resident care
- Set tables and trays, serve meals, help residents who need assistance with feeding. Prepare light meals, wash up, clean and tidy dining rooms.
- Answer emergency bells, the door and the telephone, greet visitors.
- Read and write reports, take part in the staff and residents meetings.
- Participate in internal and external training courses and other training activities as directed.
- Accompany residents on outings or appointments as necessary.
- Make yourself aware of all the Policies and Procedures within the home. The Files are available at all times in the Office.
