The Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Activity Nurse within the Organic Assessment Admission Ward. The role will involve:

To undertake care duties for patients in support of and delegated by the Registered Nurse, within a hospital or similar setting. Reports patient condition to registered staff.

What we'll need you to bring

  • SVQ II in health care or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring role.
  • Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social environment.
  • Required to undertake on the job training and induction
  • Undertake mandatory HCSW standards
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology.
  • Knowledge of the issues that can affect people suffering from long term mental and Intellectual health issues.


It would be great if you also have

  • Experience of working in an in-patient setting.
  • Preferred experience within mental health or Learning Disability setting.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in MHLD Team within Udston Hospital.

The working pattern for this role 7.5 hours over 5 days.
