NHS Lanarkshire are looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to join the team in our busy Emergency Department at University Hospital Wishaw
Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
The post holder will assist the registered nurse and members of the MDT in the delivery of a range of patient care and participate in the main procedures and to provide basic nursing care to the patient.
The successful candidate will be working alongside our nursing team providing essential care to our patients with orthopaedic patients in one of our 24 bedded wards. The post holder will also participate in the maintenance of Health & Safety for the Ward / Department.
The post holder will provide care and meet the needs of a wide variety of patients within your remit. This may include complex care needs including pre and post-operative care and early rehabilitation to meat goals in enhanced recovery.
A fundamental part of the role is to communicate with the Multidisciplinary team in enhancing the patient journey.
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and the registered nurses but should be able to work on their own merit supervised by the wider nursing team.
A qualification in Health and Social Care is preferred but not essential. Experience in health or social care would be beneficial.
The post holder be working a fully rotational shift pattern of 12 hour days and nights.
