Kettering Gynaecology Outpatient Department is a busy and rewarding working environment. We offer a range of Gynaecology and Obstetrics clinics, including assessment, treatment and follow up. The department runs Monday to Friday between the hours of 08.30 and 1800, and an unpaid lunch break in the middle.
Your role will be to work as a member of the team to support the service this will include assisting in the minor operating suite all work with in the Gynaecology and Obstetrics outpatient clinics. Full training will be given for the post. This post is ideal if you would like the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team and meet the requirements of the person specification. You will need to be flexible, motivated and committed to patient-centred care.
Working with a multi-disciplinary team including clinicians, managers, other healthcare staff, patients and relatives in a professional manner using written, and verbal formats is a key requirement of this role. The post holder will abide by the National (DoH 2013) and local Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
General Duties:
- To work in 4-to-5-hour blocks, this will be spread over the week from Monday to Friday.
- To assist the doctor in the minor operation, ensuring a high quality and effective service is provided.
- To gain competencies in using specialist equipment.
- To work as part of the team in the gynaecology outpatients departments.
- To gain experience working in gynaecology and antenatal clinic.
- Be aware of the women’s needs – emotional, social, physical and cultural and establish respectful relationships with families and colleagues. Act in ways that support equality and diversity.

- To support the midwife undertaking maternity care.
