Healthcare Assistants required to support a young man in Southampton.

We are looking for a team of HCAs who are caring, committed and passionate to support our client in Sholing, Southampton.

About our client:

'I have a C4-C5 spinal injury, I am paralysed from the chest down and requires support on moving and handling needs, medication administration, bowel care intervention and management of autonomic dysreflexia. And all personal hygiene needs, including nutrition and hydration.

I live in the comfort and safety of my parents home with their care and I also have a dog.'

About the role:

  • 2 Years of previous experience with Spinal Injury would be preferred.
  • To support the district nurse to carry out clinical tasks.
  • You would have to administer medication for the client.
  • Training will be provided for bowel and catheter care.
  • You will work alongside the District Nurse, as well as the family.
  • To support the client who has C4-C5 spinal cord injury.
  • Autonomic dysreflexia
  • Vital signs observations

Shift Patterns:

Morning Shift: 08:00 - 12:00

Long Day: 08:00 - 20:00

Night Shift: 20:00 - 08:00

· £11. 00/hour during weekdays day shifts (Monday-Fridays)

· £12. 50 /hour during weekday night shifts and all day Saturdays

· £13.00 /hour during all day Sundays

· £22.00/hour during all day Bank holidays
