About the Role:
The main role of the HCA is to support people with all aspects of their day-to-day living.
We provide home care and support that is safe and comfortable, giving an opportunity to our service users to live independent lives in their own homes.
Our 24/7 live-in care service is tailor-made to suit service-user needs and individual preferences.
The range of duties/responsibilities includes:-
- Preparing meals - breakfast, lunch and serving drinks
- Helping with managing money and payment of bills as per recommendations of family or guardian recommendations.
- Helping with health-related tasks according to medical practitioners or community nurses recommendations
- Companionship care and general supervision
- Shopping – going out shopping with service user or on their behalf
- Collection of prescriptions and also helping with collections of pensions
- Helping with getting out of bed in the morning
- Servicing or prompting to take prescribed medication
- Social interactions - getting out of the house and meeting friends
- Maintain a safe, tidy and clean environment for staff, patients and relatives.
- Assist with the care of service users’ physical and personal needs, ensuring highest standard of care is achieved.
- Assist with simple aseptic techniques.
- Assist the service user to meet their individual religion, spiritual and cultural needs.
- Maintain service user’s rights as an individual.
- Attend in-service training and participate in Education & Development programmes
- Participate in the Annual Performance review.
- Attend all mandatory lectures/ training as necessary
- Aim and undertake to achieve relevant Health and Social Care Level 3 Course
- Records: make all supportive records to reflect the care plan activities undertaken
- Maintenance of up to date communication with colleagues, service users and their relatives.
- Provide verbal/written reports on the condition of service users to team leader or care coordinator
- Report untoward incidents to a registered nurse
- Maintain service users/ client confidentiality at all times as per organisational
Guidelines.
- Be aware of and implement organisational policies and procedures relevant to the post.

- Be aware of personal responsibilities as defined in the Health & Safety at Work
Act.
- Adhere to organisational policy regarding uniform.
- It’s your duty to be aware of your own and the organisation’s roles and responsibilities for safeguarding and protecting vulnerable adults. You should be competent enough to recognise abuse, and be able to respond appropriately, and contribute to the processes for safeguarding.
- Take infection prevention and control as an integral part of the role of all health care personnel.

Skills
Required is a minimum of one year relevant work experience in a care home and/or supported living work setting. This can be caring for family members, care home or domiciliary service.

Qualifications
We welcome candidates with great passion about healthcare work and are willing to learn and acquire skills and qualifications in this field. Diploma in Health and Social Care is a good example.
We urge all those who are working towards attainment of relevant qualifications or are already qualified with relevant experience, to apply straightaway to fill these roles.
Hands on in-service training will be provided.
Education
Any relevant passes at GCSE or equivalent will be an added advantage but emphasis is on proficiency in English language which will be assessed at interview. For overseas candidates, UK V1-IELTS or any other recognised English language test pass certificate will be accepted.
Remuneration
We pride ourselves in rewarding ability and innovation.
Salary ranges from £9 to £10.5 per hr or up-to £ 21,400.00pa for a 37-40hr week, depending on skills, competencies and/or qualifications.
