Health Care Assistant (HCA)
Position Overview: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our healthcare agency, Carency. As an HCA, you will provide vital support and assistance to patients and healthcare professionals, playing a crucial role in delivering high-quality care. Key Responsibilities:
· Patient Support: Provide compassionate and person-centered care to patients under the guidance of registered healthcare professionals. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobilisation, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients.
· Assisting with Procedures: Support healthcare professionals in performing medical procedures and treatments. This may include preparing equipment and supplies, positioning patients, and providing emotional support during procedures.
· Patient Safety and Comfort: Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Regularly check patient beds, equipment, and assistive devices to ensure they are in good working condition. Respond promptly to patient requests and address their concerns with empathy and professionalism.
· Communication and Collaboration: Establish effective communication channels with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. Provide updates on patients' conditions and report any changes promptly to the appropriate team members. Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
· Health Promotion and Education: Assist in promoting patients' well-being by supporting their physical, emotional, and social needs. Educate patients and their families about self-care techniques, medication management, and lifestyle modifications, as directed by healthcare professionals.
· Emergency Response: Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols, including basic life support and first aid. Respond calmly and efficiently during medical emergencies, following established guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a related healthcare role is mandatory.
