We have a new client in Yorkshire due to come on board with us. Please see below client requirements. Locations: Across Doncaster (various locations around 5–10-mile radius from Central Doncaster), Barnsley, Easingwold, York Service: 7 Services. Services include Residential Services for young adults 18+ years, including single accommodation and shared accommodation services with private bathrooms. We require Healthcare assistants’ working hours are, on average, 37.5 hours a week. This role often has shift work, meaning you may have to work night shifts, early morning shifts, evenings and weekends.Drivers are essential where they are not local to the service locations.
Training:
1. Care Certificate and above (Essential) 2. Medication Administration training (Essential) 3. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (Essential) 4. Physical intervention training (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Positive Behavioural Support OR MAPA - Essential)
Average shift: Average duration of 8-hour shifts, Days and Nights
Your role might include:
- supporting people with social and physical activities
- booking and going with people to appointments
- helping with personal care such as support with showering and dressing
- supporting people with eating and drinking
- monitoring individuals’ conditions by taking their temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and possibly helping with medication.
- monitoring patients and performing basic health checks
- making patients feel comfortable.
- serving meals and helping to feed patients.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, physicians, and therapists in order to provide patients with exceptional care
- Dispose of waste and hazardous materials
Healthcare Support Workers Skills and Qualifications
- Superior communication skills
- Excellent bedside manners and etiquette
- Ability to analyse basic medical information and data
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Willingness to maintain a professional demeanour at all times
- Prior experience in a hospital or clinical environment
- Knowledge of basic phlebotomy procedures
- Ability to work with other employees in order to achieve various goals
- Understanding of medical confidentiality laws and practices
