Adur Health Partnership is a successful GP practice based over 4 sites in Shoreham and Southwick. This is an exciting time to join our team as we strive to provide our community with excellent patient care.
We are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our well established nursing team. This position will predominantly be based at our Shoreham Health Centre and Manor sites, but there will be an expectation to travel/work at the other sites, so flexibility is required.
Candidates will ideally have proven experience in a primary care setting, however applications may be considered if the relevant skills are demonstrated. You will be able to demonstrate on your CV the ability to cope in a busy and demanding environment.

The below are the core responsibilities of the Health Care Assistant role:
· Support the practice nurse with health promotion programmes
· Undertake baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately
· Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
· Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
· Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics
· Conduct BMI checks as directed
· Act as a chaperone as required
· Undertake venepuncture
· When trained, administer flu vaccinations
· When trained, provide ear irrigation under the supervision of the practice nurse
· Conduct ECGs as requested
· Administer B12 injections
· When trained, undertake NHS Health Checks
· When trained, support Smoking cessation
· When trained, undertake learning disability health checks
· Diabetes screening to include foot checks
· Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
· Provide support during minor operations as required
· Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
· Ensure clinical fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
· Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
