As a Health and Wellbeing Business Partner you will have responsibility for supporting and influencing HSE divisions in building an excellent health and wellbeing culture.
You will work closely with HSW team colleagues, HSW Committees, HSE Divisions, support functions and stakeholders to lead change and advocate health and wellbeing cultural excellence in HSE.
You will use your leadership skills to:
- Influence thinking and actions on Health and Wellbeing culture at divisional and organisational level
- Lead task and finish groups to identify and implement improvements in Health and Wellbeing culture and our policies and procedures.
- Represent the HSW team and HSE at internal and external meetings and events.
- Build and maintain effective Health and Wellbeing support networks.
- Influence, coach and support senior leadership teams to achieve Health and Wellbeing cultural excellence in their Divisions.
Job description
As part of the Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team, you will be key in the delivery of embedding the new business partnering approach and raising health and wellbeing (H&W) capability in the wider HSE.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and influencing HSE Divisions to understand the vision of an excellent Health and Wellbeing culture and enabling them to achieve excellence through the delivery of the HSE Business Plan and the implementation of changes developed from the HSW improvement programme.
- Providing advice, support and direction to Divisional leaders/colleagues through improvements in systems and culture. Performing Health and Wellbeing culture / behaviour evaluations at all three levels – Organisational, Divisional (group) and Individual.
- Playing an integral role in shaping the new Health and Wellbeing culture, maximising contributions from key stakeholders, with due awareness of the role this will play within wider HSE transformation programmes.
- Working with HR Business Partners, other Business Partners and Health and Safety Committees to provide on-going expertise to meet any identified Health and Wellbeing capability and best practice gaps and providing an independent view and objective challenge as required.
- Facilitating/leading on bespoke delivery sessions at Divisional SLT’s.
- Analysing data from a wide range of data sets to make recommendations for improvement, controls or mitigation.

There will be a requirement to travel to the office for various activities e.g., collaborative working, supporting and training colleagues. Person specification
- You will hold a recognised Health and Wellbeing or HR qualification at Level 5 or, be prepared to work towards a qualification.
- The qualifications and experience are required to provide evidence that the individual can; articulate risk and make recommendations on mitigation; maintain Health and Wellbeing process, policy and procedures; and understand organisational level management information to make recommendations on Health and Wellbeing improvements at organisational and divisional levels.
- Experience of leading multifaceted change projects, delivering on time and to cost and to bring about tangible business improvements.
- Maintaining your continuous professional development and participate in regular learning and development to enable you to build and develop your Health and Wellbeing BP capability.
- Experience of persuading and influencing at a senior leadership level and with stakeholders and networks to drive forward effective improvements and culture change
- Experience of analysing data from a wide range of data sets to make recommendations for improvement, controls or mitigation.
- Experience of implementing policy, process and guidance.

Sift Information
A sift will take place during week commencing 27th February 2023 when you will be assessed on your personal statement.
Interview Information
Interviews will take place in person in our Bootle HQ, Redgrave Court, Merton Road, Bootle, L20 7HS during week commencing 13th March 2023 when you will be assessed on the advertised behaviours. As part of your interview, you will also be asked to complete a 5-minute presentation followed by Q & A. More information relating to the presentation will be provided to candidates who are invited to interview.
