What you’ll do
Ensure VBTS teams (customer dedicated and project delivery) align and adhere to –
- Health & Safety regulatory requirements,
- Customer contractual requirements
- Vodafone policies, and best practices across dedicated build / delivery / run functions
The Health and Safety Specialist is the primary health and safety support for a VBTS UK dedicated account(s). This is a key role, and the individual is the first point of contact for the dedicated account to provide competent advice in relation to health and safety with the aim of preventing harm to VBTS UK staff, subcontractors, client personnel and other third parties.
The Health and Safety Specialist needs to understand the individual customer, contractual and regulatory requirements in relation to the different activities being undertaken across the dedicated teams and projects and provide customer support as required through contractual commitment.
The Health and Safety Specialist will work alongside the dedicated account and project teams to ensure they are operated in line with company procedures and legal minimum requirements. This role will also provide Subject Matter Expertise on auditing / authorising 3rd party contractors for appropriate and safe delivery of accountabilities.
The Health and Safety Specialist reports to the Health and Safety Governance Manager and is responsible for ensuring that the below activities are performed to the best of their abilities. This is not an exhaustive list and other responsibilities may be allocated by the Health and Safety Governance Manager to meet the business needs.
What will you be doing?
- Ensure VBTS have a robust method of undertaking Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duties relating to design assessments,
- Manage, review the Customer Health and Safety Management Plan
- RAMS generation, approval and on-site compliance.
- Ensure and demonstrate compliance where applicable to H&S Law and best practice
- Ensure and demonstrate that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements of the VBTS Contracts and Vodafone policies are fully delivered by the VBTS - Professional Services teams.
- As required attend customer or Vodafone premises to assist in H&S deliverables
Who are we looking for?
- Knowledge of Health Safety, Environment Law, including the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations
- Practical experience of Safety Management System delivery and monitoring.
- Practical experience of Safety Systems of Work, generation, delivery and monitoring.
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent / NVQ Level 5 or higher
- NEBOSH General with Construction Certificate will be considered if support with relevant experience /covering letter.
