Job description
The School of Physical Sciences is seeking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer. This is a key role that will ensure the School and wider faculty have a higher level of compliance with HASMAP and also proactive leadership on all Health and Safety matters.
You should have knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and procedures especially with respect to radiation / CoSHH regulations and experience of working in a chemistry laboratory environment.
You should have a proven track record of successfully managing complex Health and Safety issues in a unionised environment, including the development and management of health and safety systems and be able to provide high quality professional advice on health & safety related matters and support to senior line managers to embed a 'safety culture' into their daily activities.
You will be educated to HND or degree level in Chemistry or equivalent work experience and possess a NEBOSH Certificate.
