Salary in the range £31,926 to £36,555 per annum full time equivalent. £18,118 to £20,744 pa

This is a role where the right person can make a real difference, taking responsibility for ensuring that the College achieves high standards of health and safety compliance. An indication of what you will be involved with includes:
- Updating policies
- Checking procedures comply with legislative requirements and good practice
- Communicating with other members of the College community regarding Health and Safety and compliance matters
- Checking and assisting with the writing and updating of risk assessments
- Accident and near miss reporting and investigations
- Keeping abreast of Health and Safety legislation
- Preparing reports for Senior Management and Governors
You will work closely with the Estates Manager and his team on buildings and site matters, with the help of a part time Fire Officer and DSE Assessor. Additionally, you will have administrative and Estates Assistant support.
The hours are 21 per week and full year, with the working days and times to be agreed. We can be flexible on the hours/days you would be working, and if you would like to add your preferred option on to your application this will be considered and discussed at interview stage.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be educated to A level, with a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent. It is essential you have previous experience of working in a health and safety role and that you possess a detailed knowledge of the relevant legislation. You will also have strong IT and communication skills, be well organised and able to take the initiative to manage your work. The ability to use Microsoft Word is required.
