Health and Safety Officer - Rhondda Cynon Taff - £45k Plus excellent benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing company who are experiencing significant growth at their site based in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Salary: £45k

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taff

Hours of work: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Thursday

8:00am - 2:30pm Friday

The role:

• Develop and maintain Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policy and procedures.
• Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all legal regulatory HSE requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with contract HSE requirements.
• Carrying out risk assessments and site inspections
• Conduct emergency response drills and routine checks on work activities of other departments.
• Conduct safety inductions and orientations.
• Explain WSH compliance requirements and work practices pertaining to employees' specific work process or area.
• Identify WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices and report to Health and Safety Manager.
• Monitor effectiveness of implemented improvement actions.

The successful candidate:

• NEBOSH general certificate, or equivalent with previous experience of ISO14001 (EMS)
• Demonstrates Safety leadership.

• Possession of excellent communication skills and good leadership qualities
• Must be able to prioritize and multi-task in the face of many responsibilities/duties.
• Must have basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Must possess a high level of problem-solving abilities with a good eye for detail.
• Must have experience in policy drafting/formulation and administration of safety policies.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of general safety guidelines (like Occupational Safety and Health guidelines) is essential.
