Due to continued growth, an exciting H&S Consultant position has arisen in this small but established Health and Safety Consultancy which is going through a period of sustained expansion. SMSE work with a number of high profile companies and organisations across a broad spectrum of industries including construction, manufacturing, leisure and warehousing. SMSE is a professional, friendly and dedicated consultancy focused on providing client orientated Health and Safety consultancy solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
Minimum NEBOSH Certificate/Level 4.
GradIOSH/CMIOSH
Min 2 years H&S experience.
Ability to communicate and present clearly to all relevant stakeholders.
Able to quickly take on an established client base.
Development and delivery of training.
Willingness to travel within the UK with occasional nights away.
Highly desirable
Fire Risk Assessment experience.
Noise assessment experience.
Construction experience.
Multi site management.
Experience of implementing/auditing Management systems (ISO45001)
Health and Safety Consultant
The role is for a Health and Safety Consultant position.
The interesting and exciting work work will involve carrying out inspections and audits, carrying out risk assessments, fire risk assessments, delivering training, and providing general consultancy advice.
The company will support the right individual to continue your development as a consultant and gain a wide range of experience across a variety of sectors and industries, and where required, training.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide competent person advice to clients.
- Respond to queries from clients by phone and email, and face to face.
- Write policies and carry out risk assessments on behalf of clients.
- Carry out fire risk assessments
- Carry out audits and property risk assessments
- Deliver a variety of training for client staff – Manual handling, work at height, DSE, fire safety etc.
- Write reports/audits on particular issues.
- Construction site visits
- Be timely in responses to client queries.
- You should have a flexible approach to working.
- Carry out CHAS/Construction Line/Safe Contractor applications on clients behalf.
- Investigate accidents and compile accident reports.
- Liaise with the HSE where required.
- Experience in Medium/High risk industries
The Individual
You will be based in the UK, an enthusiastic, well organised individual who is qualified and a member of IOSH at GradIOSH level and you will be aiming to achieve Chartered status. A professional and amicable attitude, attention to detail and an ability to manage your own workload are critical. A desire to develop personally and broaden your experience are essential. You should be able to manage your own time effectively and work well independently.
