We have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join the Council’s Corporate Health and Safety Team delivering expert, competent health and safety advice, and support across all areas of the Council.
The role
Reporting to the Corporate Health and Safety Team Manager you will work with the teams’ Health and Safety Advisers playing a crucial role helping to further embed and maintain the positive and proactive health and safety culture at the council.
Working closely with colleagues across the council and our customers you will provide strong, bold, visible, proactive, and functional health and safety support by:
- undertaking health and safety audits and inspections across the council’s services and activities including schools.
- support the development and implementation of policies and processes to assist and enable the council to comply and achieve improved outcomes.
- support with DSE assessments and training activities.
- follow up on audits and inspections ensuring that preventive actions are implemented
You will be:
- progressive and forward thinking
- highly engaging and have a compelling communications style
- experienced in undertaking audits and inspections
- ready to take ownership of health and safety issues and empower others to do the same
- able to work effectively both independently and supportively in a team environment
- qualified to NEBOSH certificate level (or hold an equivalent level 3 H&S qualification)
