What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Head of People, you will be responsible in monitoring our standards, processes, communication, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with H&S, welfare and environmental aspects are adhered to.
This will include:
- To ensure that all Health & Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations are followed and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
- Assisting with maintaining ISO14001 and ISO9001 accreditations.
- Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare and the environment at work, including statutory training and reporting.
- Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
- Ensure all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
- Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire alarm practices are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
- Ensure full and accurate health and safety and environmental training records are maintained.
- Oversee the premises check, including the management of Fire Wardens, First Aiders and Health & Safety Representatives.
- Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety, welfare and environmental work legislations and communicate relevant changes to the business.
- Assist with the review and update of health and safety policies.
- Coordinating the completion of client health and safety PQQ requests.
What you will need:
- 2 years minimum experience in H&S
- Proficient IT skills
- Excellent organisation skills
- Effective communicator and excellent people skills
- A team player, but has the ability to use their initiative and effectively manage their workload
- Proactive and eager to learn
It would be advantageous if you have:
- NEBOSH certificate or currently studying towards a H&S qualification
- IOSH Managing Safely certification
- Fire Training
- First Aid Training
