About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Dining Hall team as our Head Waiter.
You will play a key role in liaising closely with all departments across the College, and frequently communicating with the wider catering, hospitality, and events teams. You will also have day-to-day contact with Fellows, students, staff and visitors within the College, and being able to develop good working relationships both within the College and with external visitors and guests will be essential.
You will be responsible for ordering supplies when required, in accordance with University and College purchasing guidelines as required, liaising with suppliers and the Hospitality office to ensure stocks for the day ahead are at the levels required and ensure the quality of food and drinks and ensuring that Food Safety and relevant Health and Safety legislation, including COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) regulations are complied with.
You will be joining the University of Oxford’s most international college, with a unique mix of students: it is the University’s leading college for students reading for degrees on a part-time basis and has a strong and vibrant body of full-time students. The College’s wider academic community includes members drawn from across the full range of academic disciplines in the University.
About you
You will have demonstrable experience of providing good customer service and have excellent communication skills. You will possess a level 1 or 2 in food safety and preparation qualifications. You will have excellent attention to detail and previous experience in a similar role.
