Compass Associates are proud to be working with a fantastic charity who hold day and residential care alongside a specialist school and college, to recruit for a new Head of Therapies.
The school and college provide specialist education and therapeutic support for children and adults (ages 5 - 23) who have a diagnosis of Epilepsy and/or additional complex needs or learning disabilities. All pupils have an EHCP and the school offers a range of therapeutic support including Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Play/Art Therapy You would lead the well-established in-house Psychology and Therapy which includes Occupational Therapists, SALTs and Therapy Assistants as well as working closely with the current Head of Wellbeing as they coach and transition you into the role.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Educational Psychologist who has experience working within specialist education settings with children and young people with Epilepsy as you'd be able to work with children, deliver staff training, lead your own team and be involved in service development across the school, college, day and residential services.
As the person in charge, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering therapy and psychology services to the children and young adults we support at the specialist College, School and Charity. Your job is to make sure that the services are developed and provided effectively, following the necessary educational and clinical guidelines. You should also be flexible and innovative in your approach to handle any new challenges that arise.
The site is commutable from: Brighton, Eastbourne, Worthing, Crawley, Croydon, Crowborough, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill other surrounding towns as well as most of Sussex and Surrey
Essential criteria:
Qualified professional qualification in Ed Psych and relevant therapeutic field to allow registration to practise.
HCPC or relevant registration
Experience working within specialist education with children who have a diagnosis of autism
Experience in leading and managing a team of professionals
Ability to create, enhance and provide effective therapeutic services
Experience in managing significant budgets
Expertise in developing and implementing highly successful person-centred treatment plans
Proven track record of persuading and influencing important stakeholders
Accustomed to collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
Interview Process
2-Stage Ideally in Person - 1st informal with Tour and Meeting with Head of Wellbeing - 2nd in front of a panel.
Salary and Benefits
Annual salary of £60,000 - £65,000
