Role Purpose
Reporting to the People Director, this role is accountable for the development and delivery of Learning & Development for Belron UK, and developing strategies to enable colleague retention and engagement, linked to an organisational culture that inspires and enable our people to make a difference
At the heart of this role, and as part of the overall People strategy, the role holder will be responsible for leading the Learning & Development strategy for Belron UK, ensuring a ‘growth’ mindset is embedded in our culture, supported by an end- to-end programme of learning solutions across all roles, up to and including senior leadership level.
The role holder will lead our talent development agenda, ensuring that we have the right leadership and people capabilities in place to support continued business success. Driving the agenda in partnership with People Business Partners and Business Leaders to achieve our strategic goals, there
will be strong emphasis on building capability and performance across all roles. The role will also have a keen focus on strengthening the leadership succession pipeline to drive a high-performance culture, during a time of significant transformational change and business growth.
Working closely with the People Director, this role holder will also help drive our cultural plans, with a focus on developing a diverse and inclusive workplace, developing a strong employer value proposition to enable us to attract and retain the best people to our organisation. Through world-class listening strategies, the role holder will also take a lead position in supporting the development of our engagement strategy to enable Belron UK to deliver an inspiring and exceptional people experience, measured against best-in-class organisations.
Providing thought leadership on the full spectrum of this discipline, which includes, development of our Employer Value Proposition, onboarding, performance management, coaching, talent development and succession, engagement and retention, the role holder will lead a team of subject matter experts who will work with the business to enable our ambitious growth plans and support our purpose of making a difference with real care.
Working closely with your peers, they will also be instrumental in supporting the People function to deliver the broader people strategy, developing capability of the People function.
Using substantial talent development experience and expertise, the role holder will work at both a strategic and operational level, and establish and maintain strong, effective and trusting relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, including the Belron UK Executive team and Belron International People Team. In addition, the role holder will collaborate and share accountability with other leaders on key cross-functional projects for the successful development and implementation of the business strategy.
This role holder will be comfortable working at pace, often in a rapidly changing environment where the context is shifting and sometimes ambiguous, capable and confident in decision making and often managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will be confident in appropriately challenging current thinking in order to support the wider People agenda.
Key Accountabilities
  • Inspire and motivate a team of subject matter experts to continuously drive value for the business through executing initiatives that foster a talent-focussed culture.
  • Lead the continued development and delivery of a highly effective, fit for purpose talent development agenda, working with senior stakeholders on talent mapping, ensuring robust succession plans are in place, identifying key capability gaps and highlighting risks or strengths of talent pipelines, including:
  • Developing key talent pools and accelerating their readiness for target roles including developing talent practices that increase engagement and retention of high performing colleagues.
  • Gaining an in-depth understanding of the bench strength of the leadership population and work directly with identified talent pools to enable them to meet their full potential both individually and as a group.
  • Advancing the talent approach across the organisation including systems, process, timetables, templates & education to ensure it delivers quality outputs and is embraced by all.
  • Develop and lead the Learning & Development strategy for Belron UK, including:
  • Collaborating with senior leaders and senior People Business Partners to assess the ongoing and future learning needs for all populations; develop solutions, ensuring alignment with business priorities to support successful achievement of our overall objectives.
  • Evolving the leadership development framework, supporting both the general leadership population and high potential leaders / successors for the future.
  • Representing Belron UK in our global learning community and lead the internal learning community to raise awareness of learning opportunities and ensure a joined-up approach.
  • Working with senior leaders and senior People Business Partners, develop plans to build best in class engagement for Belron UK, supported by robust listening strategies.
  • Provide the thought leadership for the business to drive an inclusion and diversity agenda, through creating and implementing strategic plans to support our ambition of creating an organisation where diversity, and skills sets for the future, are welcomed and the conditions are such that everyone can thrive and succeed.
  • Across the breadth of your role, use data to provide accurate analysis, insights and recommendations to key stakeholders, proactively analysing external and internal trends, assessing the immediate and long-term opportunities.
  • Represent Belron UK at global People communities and maintain a strong external network, to stay abreast of best practice and developments in your area of responsibility, to identify opportunities to foster a continuous improvement environment.
  • Ensure any current or planned legislation governing your area of responsibility is followed, e.g., disability legislation, identifying and making proposals to address any underlying practices that do not support an inclusive approach.
What is the scale of this role?
Head of Talent will lead a team of 3 direct reports. The role will also have significant influence across the business as part of our Senior Team, working cross functionally to achieve our strategic plans.
