Head of Social
Are you passionate about producing social media content? Can you manage and grow a skilled team, as well as creating viral videos to be watched by millions? We are looking for a rockstar Head of Social to join JD Media - the new social content agency from the magic hands of Julius Dein, representing a network of channels with over 70M+ followers, and some of the most viewed viral content in the world.
You will be in charge of overseeing all areas of content, as well as managing and building the team and strategy, from start to finish. These videos will be posted on a social network of over 70 million followers.
Who are you?
- You live and breathe social media and keep up to date with all the algorithm changes across the major platforms
- You are up to date and have an eye for viral content, creators and what's popping!
- You're familiar with words like retention, shareability, ad breaks and trending
- You have excellent communication, management and problem-solving skills
- You’re highly organised and efficient, proactive, and know how to delegate as well as when to get hands-on
- You understand the difference between the big platforms and the formats that work for them
- You have experience making content sing in both long form and short form
- You’re able to keep up with a fast-paced and constantly changing environment while still maintaining an effective working structure for the team.
- You have impeccable work ethic and a passion for social content
Responsibilities:
As Head of Social for JD Studios you will oversee and manage content intended to go viral on Facebook/Instagram/Youtube/Snapchat/TikTok. You will need to give effective feedback and work closely with the editors to make sure they have the resources required for their edits. You will also be tasked with making sure the team is properly resourced with an effective and sustainable working structure in place, as well as ensuring deadlines are reached and communicating important information within the team. As this is a small team, you will have experience in editing/optimising/posting content and thumbnails yourself, and be happy to roll your sleeves up with the team.
Practically, what can you expect to be doing?
1) Overseeing JD Studios’ 10+ snapchat shows, and managing / building a team, whilst scaling our shows to generate more revenue
2) Managing and growing our YouTube shorts channels and catalogue of viral content, and optimising the channels for growth
3) Working on the the studio’s licensing model potentially building out a licensing team, to find more viral content to post across our network
4) Overseeing Julius Dein’s content team/strategy and own personal branded content, and working closely with JD to optimise this content across his own social channels
5) Working to build, grow and manage the team around you as a manager and leader
6) Anything else we throw at you that falls under the role of Head of Social!
Our ideal candidate (you may not have all of these)
- Fluent in English, impeccable grammar and punctuation skills
- Enthusiasm around social media content and video production
- Good understanding of video editing and social media management
- Deep knowledge of the different social media platforms
- Understanding of storytelling and what makes an engaging, shareable story
- Experience recruiting and managing a teaming social media management and video production
- Have created content yourself
- Social media manager/ video editor background
- Understanding of snapchat shows, content licensing and how content media agencies can generate revenue
