Head of Service – Home First and System Flow - Grade DIR 60

An excellent opportunity has arisen in Leeds - a new head of service role which will give scope to an experienced social care professional to shape a new offer for people in Leeds. You will be committed to partnership working, to bring to life our ambition for Home First.
This role will lead a number of teams to support effective social work in the discharge and intermediate care space but more importantly will support an integrated approach with our partners to deliver a seamless approach to embedding a strength and asset-based approach across our system.
The role will have operational responsibility for 5 social work teams including one which is part of our Integrated Transfer of Care service and will interface with partners working across Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, Leeds Community Health Care Trust, Leeds and York Mental Health Partnership Trust, the Integrated Commissioning Board and our valued Third Sector.
You will work as part of a team delivering good quality social work and social care services across Leeds, and will be responsive, accountable and supportive.

Your role
As an experienced social work professional, you will bring a commitment to partnership and integrated working, a collaborative approach and good quality strengths and asset based social work leadership to this role. You will work as part of the senior team within Social Work and Social Care Services and across the wider system to deliver timely, effective and seamless social care support. You will provide leadership and development capacity within the system and lead with creativity and passion. You will have scope to bring really good ideas to the table while at the same time managing a service structure that includes five social work teams.
You will be a problem solver, develop positive relationships and make sound judgements, have excellent interpersonal skills and be a natural leader.
