Opportunity Overview
The University of Salford is seeking a dynamic Head of Security with the ability to discuss security matters at all levels. You should have previous experience in Campus security and be able to develop and implement strategies and policies. You will lead the Emergency Management including Business Continuity.
Significant knowledge of Electronic Security systems and to be able to discuss these with Industry experts will be essential.
The security team consists of 50 full time in house employees.

Key Responsibilities
- To lead the University’s Security team in a flexible manner to facilitate the integrated security services
Take instructions from the Office of the Vice Chancellor/University Council and work at the highest level of the University that must include the highest level of confidentiality, privacy and integrity
To speak at Conferences/Seminars on specialist subject matter to significantly enhance the reputation of the University as world field leader
Act as Operational Prevent Lead for the University.
To act as Silver Commander in the event of Serious Incidents wherever they may occur within University

Their core objective is to provide an essential and critical service across our Campus buildings and to use a holistic approach to ensure the security of all staff, students, visitors and to support all activities in that happen here.
Estates & Facilities Services Directorate is responsible for delivering a full estates and facilities management service to the University, including property maintenance, planned maintenance and renovation, cleaning, security, caretaking and facilitating spaces for our staff and students.
Estates and Facilities has a vision to co-create excellent learning, working and living environments that fully engage staff, students, visitors and industry and that facilitates the sharing of knowledge and information.
