As the Head of Responsible Sourcing, you will adopt and continue to develop the Holland & Barrett Responsible Sourcing programme, supporting H&B to ensure robust and sustainable supply chains. You will embed the responsible sourcing policies and procedures within our organisation to ensure all short and long term supply chain ESG objectives are further developed and delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the H&B Responsible Sourcing strategy, ensuring initiatives are designed and implemented in alignment with our long term global ESG ambitions.
- Embed human rights in all parts of our business through Responsible sourcing using global expertise to guide and support the teams, understanding of salient risks
- Facilitates training and awareness to ensure business awareness of the programme, standards, policies , process & impact of business practises
- Engage with internal & external stakeholders and organisations to gain knowledge & support of best practise to ensure the continuous improvement of Responsible Sourcing at H&B.
- Collaborate with supply chain partners and wider stakeholders to influence positive impact on key areas of opportunity and risk in the supply chain.
- Ensure robust and credible outcomes in accordance with relevant standards by which certification and verification schemes are developed
- Continually improve and lead supply chain Corrective Action Plans
- Develop responsible sourcing processes, building on existing standard operating procedures
- Lead the development of the global social audit standard operating procedures
- Develop ambitious strategies and KPI's across a wide range of specific commodities and material ESG topics
- Attend and lead internal and external meetings including presentations to colleagues, clients, industry groups and government bodies across UK & Ireland
- Continue to work with business leaders and partner organisations to develop and evolve H&B supply chain due diligence tools.
- Evolve supply chain risk management practices
- Demonstrable passion for Responsible Sourcing
- Strong change management skills and demonstrates achievement in driving business performance through developing and leading programmes of work
- Experience in Responsible Sourcing roles, ideally within retail, with good general knowledge of procurement strategies, policies & procedures and global supply chain risks and opportunities
- Communicate & promote priority projects with a focus on impact reporting and case studies
- Able to demonstrate integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
- Able to prioritise workload and demonstrate initiative and independence to react to changing priorities
- Able to demonstrate excellent project management skills by managing several projects at a time.
- Able to build effective relationships both internally and externally, be a brand ambassador for H&B
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Good research and analytical skills
- Pro-active and driven individual
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide rang of stakeholders
- A working knowledge of audits and certification and its role in managing product supply chains
- Knowledge of sustainability legislation and initiatives such as science-based targets, SDG's, UNGC, CDP; supply chain assurance programmes and initiatives such as ETI ad SMETA
- Experience in using relevant industry software – e.g. SEDEX
- Willing to travel if required to international production sites.
- IT literate and extensive knowledge of MS office etc.
Location: Flexible + Hybrid – the ESG team is based out of our London office and a minimum of one day per week is required there. There may also be travel to our Head Office base in Nuneaton as well as stores and other events. There may also be occasional travel outside of the UK.
