Job title: Head of IM&T (Information Management & Technology) Project Management
Location: UK wide across all our sites, we also offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements and there will be occasional monthly travel to our sites in Portsmouth or Scotstoun
Salary: Up to £82,000 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Establishes and maintains relationships with business leaders and key functional stakeholders
- Provides an interface between the Naval Ships business and IM&T function ensuring alignment to key activities
- Understands the needs of the functions and projects, to contribute to direct continuous service improvement and ensure that full leverage is made of the IT services
- Assists the Naval Ships business in defining their systems requirements and to advise on matters affecting technical standards, policies and information
- Directs and deploys teams to deliver emerging technologies, systems and solutions
- Influences technology partners to provide system products that meet the needs of the business
- Works with technical partners to develop continuous improvement opportunities
- Maintains up to date knowledge of new and emerging technologies, systems, and capabilities to influence future strategies/working practices
- Leads on the support of business applications
- Drives development and deployment of systems and applications to meet business requirements
- Manages stakeholders to influence the developments within IT across the business
Your skills and experiences:
- Strong background at a leadership level in managing project controls and budgets
- Experience of managing a project with a budget of £200k+ or a project of significant complexity
- Confident and influential communicator, able to instil credibility with senior leadership colleagues
- Strong stakeholder management skills and an experienced people manager of managers
- Excellent presentation skills

The IM&T Project team:
Leading a team of 12 Project Managers across a number of IM&T Naval Ships projects, there will be some large scale in terms of complexity and some simple projects, and you will be supporting new bids, ensuring current projects are running well and presenting to senior leadership. It’s a very exciting and high-profile role in which you will act as the point of contact for all Project Management of Naval Ships IM&T projects and will provide regular updates to the IM&T Director.
