Head of Operations Planning Governance & Change

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations Planning Governance & Change to join our Operations Planning department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the continual improvement of the Heathrow Resource Planning Directorate, and accountable for change control, governance, and network interface. You will lead the people agenda and provide complete oversight of the Industrial Relations landscape, reporting directly to the Director of Ops Planning.

The role holds responsibility for the change management budget, contributing to the business plan and leading a team of c.20 managers and executives.

About the role

Key accountabilities, include;

  • Contributing to the company-wide IT strategy,
  • Coordinating the development, deployment, security, and stability of endorsed resource systems
  • Influencing and defining ways of working, accountabilities, and business planning alignment.
  • Setting the strategic direction by creating, deploying, and managing the directorate governance structure, including risk management and change advisory,
  • Key interface in end-to-end planning strategy and achieving performance targets
  • Responsibility for the quality of service and performance reporting,
  • Ownership of people strategy, supplier strategy, and achieving influential and trusted business partnering with senior stakeholders

Finally, the role strives for schedule stability, delivering both commercial and resource efficiencies through a continual cross-departmental feedback loop.

Qualifications / Experience

We are looking for :

  • Deep understanding and experience of resource supply and demand process, including customer impact and drivers for performance.
  • Experience in managing and delivering transformation programs and designing and continuously improving governance models.
  • Experience in Resource MI reporting, data interpretation, and tailored delivery.
  • Knowledge of IT operations, Agile Product Delivery, and strong business planning skills, including financial planning and forecasting.
  • Exceptional communication and networking skills, with the ability to engage, lead, influence, and develop technical staff, field experts, and operational senior leaders.
  • Outstanding skills in change/stakeholder management, including experience handling sensitive and confidential commercial information, and the ability to own a people/IR strategy, report, influence, and lead peers towards a transparent and single version of the truth.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to hold an airside pass and have an understanding of working in a 24/7 operational environment.
