Every day of your life matters – from the first to the last. When you work for Marie Curie, you understand that better than ever. We’re a passionate, committed and diverse team of more than 4,400 staff and 12,000 volunteers, here for people living with any terminal illness, and their families.
Everyone will be affected by dying, death and bereavement and deserves the best possible experience, reflecting what’s most important to them. Marie Curie will lead in end of life experience to make this happen.
We have recognised that to be truly one team around the patient and their family, we need to transform the way we work to be place-based. By prioritising collaborative working between those who provide services and the people who use them, we will enable people to exercise choice and exert greater control over the types of support they need for better personal health and wellbeing outcomes, by engaging services with the flexibility and scope for innovation.
As Head of Operations, you will work as part of a newly created leadership team at Marie Curie. Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategic Partnerships & Services, and working alongside the Medical Director & Head of Quality & Clinical Practice you will be accountable for the development, management and delivery of integrated services utilising your strong management skills to lead and empower diverse range, multi-professional clinical and non-clinical teams across North West.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team focused on improving outcomes for people at end of life, integrating our patient-facing services, developing partnerships with other organisations, and building our approach to community engagement and development so that citizens are at the heart of planning and delivery of services.
Utilising your extensive experience in Health and Social Care you will be a dynamic leader responsible for ensuring that all services in North West deliver safe, effective, person-centred care and that a robust governance framework is in place to optimise standards, manage risk and demonstrate excellence in end of life care.
Excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to forge and nurture successful working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, and to ensure that Marie Curie is an established and respected partner in the provision of End of Life services.
A confident communicator and negotiator, you will be accountable for the contract management and service reporting of both commissioned and non-commissioned services, ensuring that they achieve optimum performance at all times.
Creativity and vision are key to the role and you will constantly be seeking opportunities to enhance the Marie Curie brand.
