The Role – Head of Operations - Base Maintenance

This is a key operational leadership role, working within Base Maintenance at London Heathrow. You will be helping to set strategic direction and deliver the Base Maintenance business plan whilst delivering and striving to exceed performance targets. The successful postholder will ensure that our scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance programmes ensure that we have serviceable aircraft to keep our operation running reliably and on time.

  • You will be responsible for ensuring availability of resources to maximize efficiency whilst delivering the required workload and ensuring compliance with Maintenance Policy, Safety Standards, Company Standing Instructions and H & S Legislation.
  • You will motivate and lead a team of around 900 colleagues it matters to us that our colleagues reflect the many different communities around the world that we serve.   • You will play a key role in helping our colleagues to thrive to deliver a competitive engineering maintenance service for BA whilst creating and nurturing our internal talent pipeline.

Experience of leading a maintenance organisation or large engineering department, and knowledge of both maintenance integrated processes and H&S legislation are crucial for this role.
