Job description
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer the Head of Operations will be a key link between services delivering patient flow and Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response support. The postholder will ensure the effective day to day management of operational services trust wide, specifically relating to patient flow to ensure the achievement of key patient safety, activity, performance and quality targets (particularly relating to urgent care). We are therefore seeking an energetic, dynamic, and enthusiastic individual to apply for this important role. Developed communications skills will be essential to work across teams and Divisions to provide leadership and direction in a dynamic environment.
Working alongside the Associate Director for Performance and the Divisional Leadership Teams, ensure daily senior presence, site and flow management of the hospital. Working with the Clinical Site Management Team and clinical leads, manage the day to day operations, flow and performance of the trust, ensuring cohesive working and optimum use of resource across the site and its clinical support services.
In close liaison with Divisional senior, clinical and other representatives including the EPRR Lead, direct multi-disciplinary teams, lead and manage periods of trust escalation in times of operational pressures.
Always looking at service re-design and development and aligning with strategic plans and national best practice. Working with the Trust Lead for Patient Flow Transformation, use a combination of transformational and change management tools and techniques, seek continual improvement across operations, flow pathways/processes and capacity.
