Job Description: DWA Head of Operations
Salary- £45,000 per annum (full time post)
Purpose of the post:
The Academy was established in 2016 to provide a centre of excellent training for Veterinary nurses and nursing assistants. The Head of Operations is a crucial part of this, and the position includes the following.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for ensuring that students’ progress in line with their learning plans and are properly supported to do so.
- Responsible for ensuring the high quality of effective progress management, including progress reviews and other ‘in work’ contact points with students
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including employers, RCVS, EPAOs and the ESFA.
- Responsible for ensuring the requisite level of compliance for the apprenticeship programme, as required by the ESFA
- Responsible for the accurate monthly ILR return to the ESFA
- Responsible for the effective operation of the Administration function within the Academy
- The development and maintenance / revision of all policy documents and accompanying procedures.
- Line management responsibility for the Administration staff and Visiting Officers.
- Recruitment of Administration and visiting staff
- Induction, development and mentoring of new and existing staff members
- Responsible for ensuring that Administration and visiting staff follow
Qualifications/Experience/Qualities
Essential
- L3 CAVA or equivalent·
- Detailed knowledge of apprenticeship standards
- Detailed knowledge of ESFA compliance
- Detailed knowledge of apprenticeship quality strategy and processes
- A Level general education
- Self-motivated with high levels of accountability
- Excellent team player
- Good organisational skills
- Able to establish a rapport with all stakeholders
- Applicants must have a clear DBS check prior to commencement of employment
- Qualifications/Experience/Qualities
Preferred
- L3 Qualification in Leadership & Management·
- To have participated in Ofsted inspections
- To have participated in ESFA compliance Audits
- Experience of managing a team
- Demonstrates willingness to adapt
